BAHUBALI - IN HISTORY
BAHUBALI means one with strong arms .He is a legend from JAINS ,South India,Karnataka.He ruled in Karnataka at the very same time AYODHYA ruled by IKSHAKKU DYNASTY which dealt in RAMAYANA,the epic. He was born to Adinath(RISHABHANANDA) and Sunanda.He was other wise known as gommathakeshwara because of his big monolith statue, one large among world of its kind.He had a brother named BHARATHA great rebel of him.Both fought for ruling power. Bahubali known to posses a CHAKRA RATNA a specialized weapon with serrated wheel make many victory for him.This divine weapon stopped at entrance of his new capital after victory.
He then defeat his brother Bharatha in three way that is in eye fight(staring at eyes),jalyudha(water fight) and at last mallayudha(wrestling). he conquer all his 99 brothers kingdom .99 brothers later become jains Monk.Bahubali had son MAHABALA with him made all these victory over brothers.As other rulers in history ,at last bahubali realize the worthless victory and abandoned his cloths and kingdom to become DIGAMBARA MONK and attain KEVALA JNANA (OMNISCIENCE).

The film is not dealt with historic hero Bahubali but with fictional story.It is historic fiction film directed by SS RAJAMOULY from south India starred PRABHAS, THAMMANNA,ANUSHKA SHETTY, NASSER and SATHYA RAJ.The film made on a budget of Rs.180 crore.It is the highest grossing film in Indian film history.
The plot of film is not a fresh one,that is emergence of hero from zero even though treatment , visualization and CG are excellent compared with other Indian films.The visual effect team SABUCYRIL,KK SENTHIL KUMAR and KOTAGIRI VENKATESHWARA RAO has made wonder full contribution to this film and bagged 63rd NATIONAL AWARD for this category. MUSIC Department is lead by KEERAVANI made his part wonderful even if it is contradictory to historic period of India . Over and above RAJAMOULY the director of this film wonder fully made all effort to make this film a historic hit .
The recipe of this film is not a new one.It is the same we saw in other south Indian or Karnataka cinema. This film is also not escape from old Indian drama style, it wandering here and there around the hero and stupid heroism like a 'purgative' which spoil the the entire film and its free flow.In Indian cinema heroism means this idiotic exercise which is far from very common sense and challenge the wisdom of audience.The costly actors also compel the directors to do so regardless of the film.Who can blame them? It is the fate of the Indian film.
'NADAKANTHYAM NATHOTHAYAM'(നാടകാന്ത്യം നാഥോദയം-കഥ യുടെ അവസാനം നായകൻ ജനിക്കുന്നു ) is a motto from NATYYA SASTHRM is a book by BHARATHA MUNY about drama.But what we see in Indian cinema?. Here hero is forcefully created right from the beginning itself. Rajamouly also part of this.This artificially fabricated heroism render nothing to the film except foolishness. It is the story ,the hero, not the actor and molded accordingly. Compare with Rajamouli's previous film NAANEE and MAGADHEERA ,BAHUBALY IS PAR EXCELLENT IN CG effects.But all these films are made in same mold of exaggerated heroism without commonsense that challenge the audience.
The music scored for this film is contradictory to historic period,the instruments selected and filming of songs do not show historic time's feel but arises feel of modern Bollywood/south Indian cinema .Here I emphasis the song filmed in a bar like set with European style and culture.What a pity?. Does such a system existed in India at that historic time.Who knows? Is it a fiction?Costumes and make up used for this film also not match with time of story told in the film. Synthetic fabrics is joke as who invent at that time.
When come to heroine , filming completely revolve around actress's erotic beauty of body much time not to her emotion and selection of actress is made accordingly.
The facts mentioned above is also true for KALAPANI(Piyadarsan) and ASHOKA (Santhosh sivan) in both films dealing with past time.

See the realistic way of filming by not compromising to star actor and actress. MELGIMBSON can success fully convey the film to the audience in all aspect. Here is the difference from Indian cinema,where target is story and treatment not the audience.Audience go behind the filmmaker. Thus great films are occurred in the world.
